Talking about designer showhouses yesterday, had me wondering what happens after the show.  The showhouse properties are almost always for sale (don't you wonder who buys them? I do!)...but with so many different designers in one spot, the overall decor effect is usually so disjointed, to say the least.  In an effort to hunt down a story about homeowners that have purchased a showhouse, I laughed when I came across this article in New England Home MagazineCindy Rinfret, the designer hired for this former Greenwich, Connecticut design house, referred to it as a "painted lady in distress."  I've seen enough showhouses to know exactly what she meant.  Fortunately, Ms. Rinfret was able to bring the house back to it's former grandeur and even add a lot of fresh new style.
