Last week's post on the color orange contained the above image.  Like a bright shot of citrus vitamin C, this industrial art piece really resonated with a lot of you.  More than half the comments sang the praises of this unique poster, (which I too had fallen in love with) so off I went to scour the internet to see what I could find.

One carefully edited google search later...here is what I came up with.  This is artist Jeff Nichol.  I found this image on his site, and immediately figured that he was the artist responsible for the piece in question.  I sent Jeff an email just to let him know that his work was getting rave reviews.  Turns out, it wasn't his.  At least not the one in the post...but, this is where it gets interesting.

Jeff's "Lot C", was a reproduction of the piece in the photo!  He was given the very same photo as the one in the original blog post, by his friend, Kerrie Kelly.  Kerrie is an interior designer, (Kerrie and Jeff both studied Interior Design at the Art Institute of Sacramento). Kerrie saw the same great "Lot C" poster, fell in love with it, and then commissioned Jeff to recreate one.  Which he did, beautifully!  The best part, is that it's now paired up with this purple couch!  Purple with orange, exactly what my original post about the color orange had encouraged.  Crazy!

So, I don't know where the original piece came from...

but if your looking for a great reproduction, check out Jeff's site here.  And, Kerrie Kelly, the designer that loved the same piece, her site is here.
